Students who are involved with clubs, sports and other campus activities often have greater academic success than students who only study.
Plan ahead to visit campus
Do not show up unannounced. Your student wants to spend time with you, and will be excited to show you around their new life, but may not admit it. Having something prearranged will give everyone something to look forward to, and will give the student a great sense of independence.
